Why Fans Love Manny Pacquiao?

Manny Pacquiao is the best pound for pound boxer in the world. He's probably the best pound for pound fighter in any of the combat sports, including mixed martial arts. He's a massive star, and he fights in front of 50,000 screaming fans. He's plastered all over 60 Minutes, late night talk shows, and more. He's a bigger star in the Philippines than we could even fathom in the United States, a sort of combination between the Beatles, Michael Jordan and Brad Pitt, and then some. He's a Filipino Congressman with lofty political aspirations. So just what is it about this guy that we can't get enough of? Take a look at these 4 reasons why fans love Manny Pacquiao.

Manny Pacquiao Wins, and Captivates

As you would expect of the best fighter in the world, Manny Pacquiao wins a lot of fights. But he doesn't just win them, he captivates audiences and puts on thrilling battles. He has an unrivaled offensive arsenal at his disposal, and he's willing to use it all to get that W on his record, and to entertain the audience that paid to see him perform. While Pacquiao vs. Mosley might not be a sensational match-up, you can be sure that Pacquiao will put on a sensational performance.

Manny Pacquiao Is Uber-Likeable

You won't find a more humble, soft spoken, nicer guy in any walk of life, let alone in the professional boxing ring. Pacquiao seems to be a genuinely good guy, he thanks his fans and his team and god after every fight, he gives back to the community, and with his assent into the political arena, he wants to give back to his people even more.

Manny Pacquiao Worked his Way to the Top

Few people have risen from harder circumstances any higher than Manny Pacquiao has. Just as we gobbled up Michael Oher's hardscrabble story depicted in The Blind Side, Pacquiao has risen to worldwide fame and fortune from the humblest of beginnings. Nothing was given to Pacquiao, there was no easy rise to the top. He scratched and clawed his entire way, and that's something that everybody either admires, relates to, or both.

Manny Pacquiao Has a Good Time

We hear a lot about athletes taking their profession seriously and as a "real job", and usually that's a signal of a mature, diligent approach and attitude. It means that they are applying themselves as much as possible and really putting some good, old fashioned, hard work in. Michael Vick isn't just playing football anymore, he's punching the clock, he's doing everything that he can to become a better player for the team. But sometimes we want our athletes, the best ones who already perform at the highest levels, to go out there and simply have a good time.

We see it when Brett Favre throws a touchdown pass and when Derek Jeter makes a play at shortstop. It's not just a job for these guys, it's what they love to do the best. Manny Pacquiao has a good time in the boxing ring. He enjoys what he does. He has a smile on his face, he jokes with his friends, and all of that shines through and makes us appreciate him even more.

So just what is it about Manny Pacquiao? It is everything. He wins. He captivates. He's genuine. He helps. He overcomes. He has fun. He keeps us coming back for more and more, every time, and there's no end in sight.
